The Society is governed by a board of directors, who serve without compensation. The purpose of the Society is to generate membership, donations, and fund raisers to further music education of young musicians along the Gulf Coast region which is based in Mobile, Alabama. The GCSS offers the following: •Scholarships•Gulf Coast Steinway Piano and Vocal Competition and Concerto Competition which occurs annually •Supporting music programs in public & private schools, colleges, and universities in need•Musical events throughout the year at no charge which include: recitals, concerts, workshops, and master classes.
