Preserving our History Winter 2025 Calliope Village is closed for the season but you can always take a virtual tour of the Village. CLICK HERE to check out the Calliope Village Interactive Map where you can click on a building to hear a brief history. The Village grounds are open year round so enjoy a walking tour and listen to building histories using the QR codes by each door. The Hawarden Historical Society registered name Big Sioux River Valley Historical Society was established in 1979 with the mission to preserve and protect Hawardens history.
