Arthurdale Heritage Inc
Arthurdale Heritage Inc (AHI) was formed to save the central buildings of the first community built by the federal government during the Great Depression. It also saves the stories of the homesteaders plus items made and owned by them. It educates those who visit the area plus students from grade school to university.Arthurdale was a pet project of Eleanor Roosevelt who visited often and was deeply concerned that it would be a successful example of how the long term unemployed could raise themselves up. AHI gives tours of five of the rehabilitated buildings that make up the New Deal Homestead Museum.
