Atlas Science Center Atlas Science Center to Close Partnerships Secured for Continued Mission It is with a heavy heart that Atlas Science Center announces its permanent closure due to rising operational costs. After careful deliberation the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to sell the property formerly a paper mill on the Fox River. Atlas Science Center originally known as the Paper Discovery Center has proudly served the Fox River Valley community since 2005 promoting lifelong learning discovery and scientific exploration. In a move to ensure the continuation of its mission and responsible stewardship of resources Atlas Science Center has entered into a partnership with the Building for Kids Childrens Museum and other community organizations.
