BECA believes that every child deserves the basic human right to a high quality education. BECA exists to promote affordable, quality education to the educationally disenfranchised through meaningful multicultural collaboration BECA exists to promote cultural exchange and provide affordable bilingual education.ย In our volunteer-driven bilingual school model, Central American students learn from dedicated volunteer teachers, and those volunteers learn from the community in which they are immersed.ย Providing educational access and empowerment to the most financially disadvantaged members of a community is a defining characteristic of our program; it should come as no surprise that "beca" means scholarship in Spanish.

Yet the region also struggles with widespread poverty income inequality crumbling infrastructure and a lack of quality educational and professional opportunities. In collaboration with our Honduran partners BECA is working to reverse these dynamics so that our students can express their full human potential and build a future grounded in their countrys many strengths and assets. Our goal is to empower and enable our graduates to remain in the region by equipping them with the skills they need to access economic and social opportunity at home.

With beautiful, hand-made illustrations, each student explained the unique features of forests, deserts, oceans, and more โ showing not just what theyโve learned, but their creativity and hard work. We are so proud of their efforts and their confidence in presenting.
