Since 1979, Dumbarton Arts and Education has leveraged the power of the arts to transform lives through two core programs. Dumbarton Concerts provides the nation’s capital with quality music concerts and innovative programming, including newly commissioned works performed by world-class artists at affordable prices. Our early childhood education program, Inspired Child, fosters the cognitive and social-emotional development of underserved children from birth to age five through classroom residencies with master teaching artists, professional development in arts integration for teachers, and family engagement programs.

Founded in 1979 as a chamber music concert series Dumbarton Arts Education is a music arts and education organization that is doing extraordinary work in Washington DC. Dumbarton Arts Educations mission is to present programs that promote community accessibility and a love of the arts and learning throughout greater Washington DC. The Dumbarton Concerts music series showcases established and emerging artists for multigenerational audiences and creates a community for patrons and music lovers. Inspired Child improves the quality of education and inspires children ages 0 to 5 in DCs most economically disadvantaged communities using the transformative power of the arts.
