Dallas Downtown Association

The Dallas Downtown Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing and promoting the historic downtown area of Dallas, Oregon.

Mission and Vision

Approach

The Dallas Downtown Association adopts the principles of the Main Street Approach, as formulated by the National Main Street Center (Main Street America). It is an affiliate member of Main Street America and the Oregon Main Street Network. The approach is structured around four points:

• Economic Vitality: Supporting existing businesses and filling downtown buildings with locally owned enterprises.
• Design: Emphasizing historic preservation, building restoration, pedestrian-friendly environments, and beautification to create a positive image.
• Organization (Outreach): Providing operational frameworks, managing resources, and ensuring sustainability.
• Promotion: Organizing events to highlight downtown businesses and the community.

Programs and Activities

The association engages in various activities such as building restorations, seismic upgrades, and community events like holiday lighting. It collaborates with property owners, local government, and the Urban Renewal District to revitalize downtown areas by adding murals and restoring historic signage.
