The Free Burma Rangers (FBR) is a multi-ethnic humanitarian service movement working to help free the oppressed in Burma, Syria, Iraq and Kurdistan. Our vision is to free the oppressed and to stand for human dignity, justice and reconciliation. Free the Oppressed (FTO) supports the work of the Free Burma Rangers (FBR), which is a multi-ethnic humanitarian service movement working to bring help, hope and love to people in the conflict zones of Burma, Iraq, and Sudan. Working in conjunction with local ethnic pro-democracy groups, FBR trains, supplies, and later coordinates with what become highly mobile multipurpose relief teams. After training these teams provide critical emergency medical care, shelter, food, clothing and human rights documentation in their home regions.

WEEKLY DISPATCH | May 15, 2025 Heavy Burma Army attacks across Karen State continued this week, with airstrikes and mortars destroying 17 homes in Win Kan Village and killing or injuring civilians in Taung Pu Chaung. Our Rangers responded with emergency aid and medical care, and put on several Good Life Club (GLC) programs for displaced families. In central and southern Karen, they trained frontline medics and treated over 430 patients in areas with no prior medical access since the 2021 coup.
