Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools VEBA Trust

Eighth graders in Global Studies classes at Twin Oaks and Hidden Oaks Middle Schools have been learning about the Global Water Crisis through a powerful service-learning project. They read A Long Walk to Water, calculated their own water use, tested water quality, and also walked with gallons of water around the perimeter of the campus to experience the challenges faced by communities around the world. Partnering with local nonprofit H2O for Life, students at both school raised a combined $2,400 to help fund the installation of a water well in South Sudan.
