A place where they can have all of the functions of a normal life in society within the village. A place where they can develop their capabilities to be the best they can be. A place where they can receive instruction and training for development of daily living skills and how to function in society. One goal of our organization is to help provide relief through the forms of intervention and prevention to help relieve those that are distressed over issues they are facing due to their care of an individual with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The families of an individual with an autism spectrum disorder are generally at a loss as to how to handle or train their child so as to bring out the best in their child. This leaves the family and the autistic individual in a state of instability and deterioration as a result of an Autism Spectrum Disorder. We will train and develop the autistic individual as well as the family and the community so as to help empower the autistic individual. If an individual, (parent of autistic person), is in a distressed state, then the family is distressed and then the community as a whole suffers as a result of what may be referred to as a trickle down effect. We will work with the autistic person, using the ABA style, positive reinforcement, training and medication therapy to stabilize the autistic person, so that they can develop in a positive and productive way.Double T Autistic Village is a pioneer in Muskingum County in the development and creation of an Autistic Village. A place where individuals with autism can be in an environment that is designed and created just for them. It is a place where the autistic individual can live, work, train, and have leisure in the village. The training that the autistic person receives empowers them to be able to go out into the community to live independently, to be employed in the community and to be productive and functional in the community. In addition we provide education and training for the families or caregivers/providers of the autistic individual so that they can increase in knowledge regarding autism and how to help the autistic person to be empowered in their home environment. Plus, we provide public awareness of autism to the general population so that they are able to relate and interact with the autistic individual in such a way as to help empower the autistic person in their interactions and community environment to help the autistic person to be successful and enjoy life. Our goal is to help provide an environment that completely centers on autistic individuals. Our target market is for autistic individuals age 21 and older since there are very little programs available for autistic young adults. Once they age out of traditional programs the autistic young adult becomes stagnant and left only to the care of the parent and/or caregiver. In addition to the limited number of people involved in the young adults life, and the limited range of social activities in their life, the parent or caregiver then becomes limited and/or isolated along with the autistic young adult. This type of setting can cause tension and stress upon the autistic person and/or the caregiver, which can escalate behavior problems. Our organization is designed to offer a solution to the isolating situation. We use ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) in addition to medication therapy in our program. According to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, (CDC), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is, "A notable treatment approach for people with an ASD is called applied behavior analysis (ABA). ABA has become widely accepted among health care professionals and used in many schools and treatment clinics. ABA encourages positive behaviors and discourages negative behaviors in order to improve a variety of skills. The child's progress is tracked and measured."Our primary desire is to focus on autistic individuals 21 years old and over, however, the final decision of the board will determine if an individual under the age of 21 would be accepted in. Each situation will be dependent upon the circumstances surrounding the autistic person and their families diagnostics. We have no age limit set, but our focus is on autistic individuals 21 years old and up. PLEASE HELP US, TO HELP THEM!!
