Society for Neuroscience and Psychology in the Performing Arts
our mission is to1. become the society of excellence in the performing arts by improving the mental health of artists of all ages, their mentors and any interested party, with chronic problems which threaten the well-being of artists, 2. provide leadership, facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration, make new discoveries and educate anyone who is either in the field of Performing Arts Neuroscience and Psychology, or is interested in it.3. facilitate the direct application of psychological, neurological, educational and neuroscientific research findings to the performing arts4. integrate that research into practice (use of psychological and psychophysiological techniques into all aspects of the performing arts)5. disseminate the products of this research to the larger community of psychologists and performing artists so as to be useful in common, everyday practice.Our aim is to study the issues inherent in arts study, practice and performance play in disability in the arts.
