In 2024, the term “nepo baby” received 99.8% more media coverage than the term “diaper crisis,” according to research from advertising agency Tombras . Not only are half of U.S. families with young children in need of clean diapers to keep their babies healthy, 1 in 4 parents miss work or school because they can’t afford the diapers required to bring their child to child care, according to The NDBN Diaper Check 2024. Meanwhile “Nepo Babies” - the children of celebrity or influential parents - dominate media headlines and social media feeds, the diaper crisis in America struggles to gain mind share and national attention. We teamed up with writer-director/actor Jack Henry Robbins — the son of Susan Sarandon & Tim Robbins —in a PSA that asks society to focus less attention on nepo babies and more on the fact that 1 in 2 U.S. families with young children can’t afford diapers. We’re excited to announce news out of Washington D.C.! The bipartisan End Diaper Need Act of 2025 was reintroduced today in the U.S. Senate by Senator Tammy Duckworth , Senator Kevin Cramer , and Sen. Peter Welch , and in the U.S. House of Representatives by Reps. Rosa DeLauro and Bonnie Watson Coleman . This legislation will appropriate $200 million each fiscal year from 2026-2029 to fund the expansion and scaling of programs addressing diaper need. The bill also defines diapers as “medically necessary” so that families can purchase them through health savings accounts and HRAs. The End Diaper Need Act will substantially reduce diaper need, and work to improve the health and well-being of families across the country. Thank you Sen. Duckworth, Sen. Cramer, Sen. Welch, Rep.
