The Great Plains Trails Network supports a network of safe, accessible trails across Lancaster County for walking, biking, jogging and horseback riding, promoting outdoor recreation for all. The Great Plains Trails Network is a group of citizens who advocate and support a network of trails in and around Lancaster County, Nebraska, for jogging, biking, walking and horseback riding. The network seeks the acquisition, development and wide availability of trails by: -Securing funding from public and private sources -Working cooperatively with governmental agencies -Lobbying for favorable legislation -Providing opportunities for persons to learn more about trails, their value and appropriate use
