Kids Care Connection, Inc. Walk for Autism
Walk for Autism - Augusta, founded in 2000, utilizes the volunteer efforts of parents of children with autism. The 9th annual Walk for Autism will take place on Saturday, September 27th 2008 at the Riverwalk in downtown Augusta, GA. In addition, the organization will host a charity golf tournament on October 10th, 2008. All donations and funds raised during these local events are used to reimburse the cost of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Relational Development Intervention (RDI) therapy services provided to autistic children in their home environment. ABA and RDI are proven intense one-on-one therapy programs that aid our precious autistic children tremendously in growth and learning skills. This vital therapy additionally assists our children in many educational areas such as your basic Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Arithmetic with the hopes of mainstreaming our children out of the Special Education classroom and into a much desired all-inclusive educational setting. ABA and RDI therapy also teach and enhance social and emotional skills, increases the child?s ability to use speech and language, help with sensory integration issues, and improve the overall quality of life for each of our affected children.
