Overview

Grace of God Lutheran Church is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). It is located in Millsboro, Delaware, specifically serving the Long Neck area.

History

The church was established through the efforts of Community Lutheran Church in Frankford, Delaware, in collaboration with the Delaware-Maryland Synod and the ELCA. Before its official naming, the area served as a preaching point for summer visitors and residents along the north shore of the Indian River Bay. Pastor John Barton and several members of Community Lutheran provided Lutheran worship services in various locations, including the Indian Mission Methodist Church.

The church was officially named Grace of God Lutheran Church after a period of prayer and study by its founding members. Pastor Judith Moller was appointed as the mission developer, and the first worship service took place on November 28, 2005.
