Nebraska optometrists are independent primary health care providers who examine, diagnose, treat and manage diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures, as well as diagnose related systemic conditions. TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY, AVAILABILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY OF EYE AND VISION CARE IN NEBRASKA; TO REPRESENT THE OPTOMETRIC PROFESSION TO GOVERNMENT, THIRD PARTIES, AND THE PUBLIC; TO ASSIST MEMBERS IN CONDUCTING THEIR PRACTICES SUCCESSFULLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF PATIENT CARE AND EFFICIENCY; TO DEVELOP A SENSE OF COMMUNITY AMONG MEMBERS, THEREBY CREATING COMMITMENT TO THE PROFESSION OF OPTOMETRY.
