PDLT’s mission is to conserve, & to promote an appreciation of, the significant natural, agricultural, and historical resources of the Pee Dee Watershed Partnering with private land owners to permanently protect their land legacy. The mission of Pee Dee Land Trust is to conserve, and to promote an appreciation of, the significant natural, agricultural, and historical resources of the Pee Dee Watershed of South Carolina. PDLT has now permanently protected over 47,000 acres in the Pee Dee Watershed. While remaining in private ownership, the properties protected through conservation easements held by PDLT ensure that special places will be available for farming, forestry, and recreation for future generations. Pee Dee Land Trust is recognized by the IRS and the state of SC to be a qualified organization for holding conservation easements. Land trusts can also protect land which has been donated as a gift, purchased at fair market value or bargain sale, or given through a will.
