ALASKA TRIBAL CONSERVATION ALLIANCE

Follow Message Edit

The Alaska Tribal Conservation Alliance (ATCA) is a multi-Tribal Alaskan non-profit which was established on April 22, 2011 by the first three Alaska Tribal Conservation Districts (TCD). ATCA assists TCD's build capacity for effective natural resource planning and successful project implementation on Tribal lands. Since inception, ATCA has supported the creation of 10 additional TCD's. ATCA's mission is to improve the conservation and sustainable development of natural resources in Alaska, promote traditional subsistence activities, and improve the quality of life within Tribal Conservation Districts, serving Tribal Governments, Native Corporations and other stakeholders within the district. As a group composed of Tribal entities, ATCA is uniquely poised as an effective resource for peer-to-peer dissemination of best practices, programs, techniques, and other information related to conservation initiatives on Tribal lands - by Tribal communities for Tribal communities. By compiling and identifying natural resource priorities throughout Alaska, long range project implementation can become the reality.
