Exploring all of our identities beyond the tourism complex means slowly bridging and decolonizing our collective Caribbean experience. In practice this was already innate in caribBEINGs growth onetime experiences sitespecific installations and providing alternative spaces for these conversations to happen. I AM Caribbeing returns to Governors Island for our 3️⃣rd season—centering art as a form of resistance, reflection, & celebration. On 3rd Saturdays, immerse yourself in a vibrant mix of poetry, storytelling, & visual expression rooted in Caribbean heritage. 🇭🇹 We’re kicking off the season on May 17th in celebration of Haitian Heritage Month with a picnic-style afternoon full of community, creativity & culture.
