Home | Current Site Wechsler Foundation Where are we now. The Wechsler school building was the first brick school built in the state of Mississippi forBlack students using public funds. The facility was built in three stages. Event NEWS The building originally constructed in 1894 with subsequent additions in 1914 and 1951 is slated for restoration.
