Dedicated to the improvement and preservation of sight and quality of life by providing services and education, and by championing healthy vision and innovation The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington is dedicated to the improvement and preservation of sight and quality of life by providing services and education, and by championing healthy vision and innovation to everyone in our area. The Low Vision Center touches the lives of visually impaired people more than 2,200 times a year through its hands-on demonstration center, information and referral services, and community education and outreach services. All services are provided at no charge. People with low vision can learn how to maximize their remaining sight and use low vision aids and coping strategies to better handle the task of everyday living, including reading, writing, cooking, personal grooming, playing games, etc.

Low Vision Programs Low Vision Resource Center POB delivers free vision support services and resource navigation to assist individuals with agerelated macular degeneration diabetic retinopathy glaucoma and other eye conditions to maintain their independence. Our Resource Navigators provide personal guidance as clients move through their vision journey. Some of these specialists have professional experience in vision and eye care others may have personally faced vision challenges and wish to help others in similar situations.
