Poquoson Museum is located at 968 Poquoson Ave Hours of operation are Saturday 1-5pm Our mission is to preserve the history of Poquoson, established in 1631. We accomplish that mission by recognizing citizens that founded our city and their descendants. The Museum includes a farmhouse, a large barn and several outbuildings. In addition, we recently moved another building to our campus--Tom Hunt's Store, a previous (1880- era) general store, post office and pharmacy. Included on our campus is a 15 acre marsh-walk trail with over 30 educational signs that depict the wildlife and aquatic features that are part of the local environment. Also included on our campus are beautiful gardens by the York/Poquoson Master Gardeners and the Colonial Beekeepers' beehives. We have had re-enactments of WWI/WWII and the Civil War on our premises.
