On May 7th, Lab celebrated the birthday of its founder, Sally Smith, who created The Lab School when traditional schools failed to give her son the education he needed. All this month, we have been remembering Sally and celebrating the community that grew out of this personal need. Lab has helped thousands of students realize their potential using Sally’s Academic Club method and arts-based teaching methods. Each year, we strive to expand our offerings while staying true to Sally’s mission, and parent participation is essential! It sends an important message to potential funders - that our community is strong, our stakeholders (particularly our parents) believe in our approach, and that we are united in a common mission – partners in a lasting legacy. This is Charlie W taking over Lab’s social media because I am Head of School for the day and I get to call the shots! I started the day with arrival duty, where I helped people get out of their 🚗. I toured the different divisions with different teachers and I got to have lunch with Ms. Wargo and my friends Tap and Orion- unfortunately there was only room to bring two! It has been fascinating to see behind the scenes at Lab and I wish I had a little more time to be the Head of School! (fb)
