We are a US based organization that was set up to financially assist charities in East Africa who provide care for orphaned, abandoned, and neglected infants and children as well as organizations that help in an outreach setting, enabling families to remain together. The main organization that we consistently help is Forever Angels in Mwanza, Tanzania, which has 2 strands - a Baby home and an outreach program. The Baby Home provides a stable and loving home for up to 60 orphaned or abandoned babies and children from 0 to 5 years. Since opening its doors in 2006, Forever Angels has cared for 410 children. Forever Angels specializes in caring for some of the country's most vulnerable children, including those suffering from HIV/AIDs. These children are provided with nutritious food, a stimulating environment, love, and medical care. Staffed by trained and dedicated Tanzanian carers, it provides love and support while giving these children the best possible start in life. When a Tanzanian mother dies in childbirth the remaining family are generally unable to afford the formula needed to keep the new born baby alive and thriving. Forever Angels, through their Maisha Matters program, supports these infants and their, usually female, carers in the community by providing nutrition, crisis items, weekly training in preventative health and business set-ups so that women can achieve dignity and status and raise a healthy family independent of external aid. This model has been socially franchised and 4 other regions in Tanzania now have Maisha Matters programs.
