🌍 🌍NYC YOUTH 25 YEARS OLD AND YOUNGER ONLY: Complete this survey by Friday, May 30 for a chance to win a $50 gift card! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdS7VbY8MLeKlILzs-gXE7HivYdaCYBis-7M12GXnvZ_jWt4Q/viewform Chilis on Wheels is inviting young people across NYC to speak up about food, farming and the future of our city. Chilis on Wheels, Equity Advocates, Drive Change, East New York Farms!, Lower East Side Ecology Center, Teens for Food Justice, and Youth Food Advocates, are building a Youth Food Justice Mayoral Questionnaire are building a Youth Food Justice Mayoral Questionnaire—a youth-led project to collect the questions and quotes about what you want the next Mayor of New York City to answer. We’re focusing on issues like hunger, farming, food access, school meals, climate, and community health. The goal is to help young people feel more informed and empowered as voters and civic leaders and ensure the food and farm issues that young people care about are on the public agenda ahead of the 2025 Mayoral election.🌍🌿 Here’s how it works: We’re asking young people to reflect on what matters most to them—and to write one question they want the next Mayor to answer about food insecurity, school food, urban gardens, climate, public health and more. These questions will be collected from youth across the city. The top 10–15 most commonly asked questions will be compiled into a citywide Youth Food Justice Mayoral Questionnaire, which we’ll send to the candidates and share their responses back with you. Quotes provided will also be compiled and shared with candidates and across social media platforms. 👉 Want to join in? Take a minute to submit your question here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdS7VbY8MLeKlILzs-gXE7HivYdaCYBis-7M12GXnvZ_jWt4Q/viewform #NewYorkCity #NYC #Policy #Raffle #ClimateJustice #FoodJustice #Health #Nutrition #NewYotk #Policy (fb)

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we say "See you later" to our beloved and beautiful Noelle. (Noelle Reyes) While her energy will remain with us forever, navigating this transition and the grief of not having her here in human form is a difficult journey. Noelle, our chosen family--A true friend and confidant. A tough and determined activist who devoted her life to fighting for liberation and helping everyone in need, regardless of their species. Her kindness and generosity, straightforwardness, dedication to treating everyone with dignity, and the love she gave the world will always remain with us, teaching us daily. As the Lead Community Organizer and Chef at Chilis on Wheels, Noelle was the driving force behind our community fridges, delicious and culturally diverse meals for the unhoused in New York and New Jersey, as well as the distribution of organic produce and groceries. For years, including during the pandemic, Noelle served our community across the Five Boroughs, feeding thousands. This included our Free Farmers Markets at public schools in the Bronx and Brownsville, where, like everywhere she went, community formed around her. From rescuing food to rescuing animals, Noelle was a dedicated activist who always found solutions to any obstacles that stood in the way of standing in solidarity with others. Her quiet yet strong determination could move mountains. Even until her last breath, she ensured that everyone in the community was fed and that every Being in her care had a home. We owe you so much, Noelle. We love you. Rest in Power, dear one. Please visit the obituary link to leave a message for Noelle. https://www.riottofh.com/obituary/NoemiNoelle-Reyes In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to the causes she cared most deeply about: Red Robin Song Animal Sanctuary – www.redrobinsonganimalsanctuary.org Chilis on Wheels – www.chilisonwheels.org Mercy for Animals – www.mercyforanimals.org Final Hope Animal Rescue – www.finalhope.org Services will be held this Saturday. All are welcomed: May 24, 2025 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City, NJ 07306 (fb)
