Crossstreets Neighborhood Alliance Inc
For the past 20 years, our mission has been the same: walking in love with people in need. We've spent the last two decades meeting the needs of our community by providing everything from meals, showers, clean clothes, and warm jackets to grocery essentials, school supplies, and Christmas gifts. But the most important thing we provide is a place where every person is welcomed, every person is loved, and every person comes away with an understanding of how much God loves them.
Crossstreets Neighborhood Alliance Inc
Overview
Crossstreets Neighborhood Alliance Inc is a U.S. nonprofit organization, registered as a 501(c)3 corporation. The organization has been serving its community for over two decades, with a mission centered on providing support and services to those in need.
History
Crossstreets began in late 1999 as a group focused on extending love and support to people on the fringes of society. Initially, it organized a New Year's Eve dinner for 50 people living on the streets, which evolved into ongoing outreaches to the unsheltered community in the East Bay. This included providing hot meals, showers, and opportunities for relationship-building and spiritual growth.
In 2012, Crossstreets expanded its services by offering school supplies and Christmas gifts to low-income families and establishing a food pantry. This strategic shift enabled partnerships with government agencies and local organizations, allowing Crossstreets to become a food distribution agency in collaboration with the Alameda County Community Food Bank and Family Giving Tree.
By 2014, Crossstreets officially became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, enhancing its capacity to partner with external organizations. By the end of 2020, Crossstreets transitioned from a church-sponsored ministry to a fully independent organization, continuing to partner with local churches and community-based organizations to bring support to its neighbors.
