A US-based organization dedicated to empowering grassroots activists around the world to rally for human rights, freedom, and democracy in Burma Visit us at www.uscampaignforburma.org. Use your freedom to promote Burma's freedom. Our mission is to build a broad based coalition of grassroots and institutional support for freedom in Burma. The U.S. Campaign for Burma does this primarily in three ways: 1) strengthen the position of the rightful leaders of Burma, 1991 Nobel Peace Prize recipient Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the democratically elected National League for Democracy, by cutting the political and economic lifelines of the ruling military junta;2) organize and advocate for the establishment of UN Security Council Commission of Inquiry into war crimes and crimes against humanity in Burma; and3) inform and work with our grassroots citizens, our global partners and the US policy-makers about Burma’s political, social and economic crisis.The U.S. Campaign for Burma is based in Washington, DC. We are a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. All donations to our organization are tax-deductible. The organization is comprised of paying members, though fees can be waived upon request for those who cannot afford to pay. There are nine members of the board of directors–four are appointed and five are elected annually by the membership.

U.S. Campaign for Burma Through public education leadership development initiatives conferences and advocacy campaigns at local national and international levels US Campaign for Burma works to empower Americans and Burmese dissidentsinexile to promote freedom democracy and human rights in Burma and raise awareness about the egregious human rights violations committed by Burmas military regime. Campaigns and Advocacy USCB launches campaigns to raise awareness and educate the public about what is happening on the ground. USCB engages in advocacy efforts to advise decisionmakers about the ontheground situation to make informed decisions on USBurma policy. Solidarity and Capacity Building USCB stands in solidarity with the people of Burma.

Families of the missing #Rohingya refugees, including women and children, are urgently seeking answers after the group was allegedly abandoned at sea by Indian authorities. Detained in New Delhi on May 6 for biometric data collection, the refugees were transferred to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and later reported being left adrift near #Burma. This troubling incident is not isolated.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Representative Gerald Connolly. During his tenure in Congress, Representative Connolly was a strong advocate for human rights and democracy in Burma. He condemned the human rights violations committed by the Burmese military junta and urged the U.
