For endangered species day, Sea Turtle Recovery is happy to report that another six sea turtles are on their way to be released tonight. They will arrive in North Carolina tomorrow morning! (Soon, the waters will be warm enough in New Jersey for local releases as these amazing sea turtles continue to heal and get approval to be released.) Today, we are on our second featured release turtle of 2025. Papaya was a powerful swimmer, and she pushed other sea turtles out of her way while in rehabilitation. She would definitely make football mascots envious! She was in rehabilitation due to cold stunning and a respiratory infection.
