History Center On Main Street

The History Center on Main Street collects, presents, and preserves the objects, histories, and photos of our area's people, places and events, so that we can know and understand the lives of our community predecessors - neighbors we never met. We also record events and people of our own time so that future community members can know us a little better.Established in 2011, The History Center on Main Street is located in the former Neal family home with a second location in the 1849 Church on the corner of North Main Street and Elmira Street. Both buildings have exhibits for visitors with educational programs and meeting space in the 1849 Church.Highlights of our extensive collections include searchable archives of family genealogies that trace back through generations, local business histories and extensive area school records.By making all information available to the public, the History Center on Main Street strives to instill an awareness and appreciation of this invaluable, growing resource of information in all who visit our facilities and on-line resource.
