📢 Ben Sawyer Path - Temporary Closure 📢 Heads up. The Town of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina is about to start work on their Ben Sawyer Basin Drainage Project, and as part of that undertaking, the path along Ben Sawyer Boulevard between Center Street and Cove Bay Lane will be temporarily closed. Detour signs are already out, indicating safe locations to cross the road for this section.

✨ City of Charleston Transportation Updates ✨ At this week's Traffic & Transportation Committee of Council, several project updates were provided. Here are the top takeaways: 🌻 Ashley River Bike/Ped Bridge (aka Ashley River Crossing) -the project is moving quickly -western marsh work continues with 840 linear feet of boardwalk installed, and more is underway -additional piles are being driven, and concrete caps have been poured -in the river, the contractor is set up to pour drilled shafts on the western and eastern sides of the river 🌻 Bike Share Contract -City is going month-to-month with the current agreement and aims to put out an RFP this year 🌻 Lowline (Phase I) -City is focused on parking lots (Huger Street - north and south, and Sheppard Street - south), the revenue from which will go into Lowline costs; anticipated completion this week -work is on schedule to break ground in October 🌻 Maybank Highway/Riverland Drive -City is communicating with SCDOT and Charleston County on safety improvements to the intersection -Municipal Golf Course HAWK project (which Charleston Moves advocated for) went out to bid and closes 9/19 #peoplepoweredprogress #ashleyrivercrossing #bridgetheashley #lowcountrylowline #safestreetsforall #bikeshare 📸 City of Charleston, SC Government YouTube.
