For Youth Development, For Healthy Living, For Social Responsibility The YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo has two main sites, Maple & Portage, as well as Lincoln Youth Center. Founded in 1866, the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo seeks to enrich and strengthen the lives of those we serve in our communities through programs, services, and advocacy in youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The YMCA helps people develop values and behavior that are consistent with Christian principles. Ys are for people of all faiths, races, abilities, ages and incomes. No one is turned away for inability to pay. The YMCA nurtures the healthy development of children and teens; strengthens families; and makes its community a healthier, safer, better place to live.
