American Print Alliance
The American Print Alliance seeks to increase prints' visibility and influence through education about and promotion of contemporary prints, papermaking and book arts. It publishes a journal, maintains a website with extensive resouces, and travels exhibitions to traditional venues (college and university galleries and small museums) and places that invite a much wider public (neighborhood centers, a shopping mall, magnet high school, book store and even a winery). The Alliance helps artists consider conceptual and theoretical issues to expand their creativity, including encouraging experimentation with traditional and new printmaking techniques, and helps present and explain their work to scholars and, more importantly, to the general public.
