Sri Lanka Association of Washington D.C. (SLAWDC) Sri Lanka Association of Greater Washington's (SLAGW) focus is to assist with humanitarian and educational programs in Sri Lanka. In addition to this, SLAGW also support natural disaster recovery work and other charitable work.

The Sri Lanka Association of Greater Washington Inc. (SLAWDC) is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the United States, with the mission to serve the Sri Lankan community in the Greater Washington D.C. area. Established in 1975, it stands as one of the oldest social organizations dedicated to promoting the cultural, social, educational, and humanitarian interests of Sri Lankans and friends of Sri Lanka residing in the U.S.[1][4]
Mission and Activities
SLAWDC aims to provide a forum for its members to engage in social, cultural, educational, recreational, and philosophical activities. A key focus of the association is to support charitable and non-political endeavors that benefit Sri Lankans both locally and in Sri Lanka. This includes assistance with educational programs and humanitarian aid, as well as participation in natural disaster recovery efforts in Sri Lanka.[1][3]
