When Jacqui Morris’ father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, her first call was to her local Alzheimer’s Association chapter. She had learned about the Association during a lunch and learn that she attended. Upon calling, Jacqui was provided with invaluable resources and support to help in her journey as a caregiver. Jacqui recognized that awareness of the disease is still low in her community, so she decided to take action by being a voice for all those impacted through advocacy. As a volunteer advocate, Jacqui speaks with her district representatives to help raise disease awareness and to grow support for legislation benefiting the Alzheimer’s and dementia community. “Volunteering is a must for all folks to help their community thrive.
