A nonprofit citizens group in West Virginia's Potomac Highlands. Land, Water, Air to Sustain Us All. Stewards of the Potomac Highlands is a nonprofit 501(c)(4) citizens group aiming to preserve open spaces, forests, farmland, and sustainably develop our rural communities and towns in the Potomac Highlands. We work in West Virginia (Pendleton, Grant, Mineral, Hardy, Hampshire, Morgan, Berkeley, Jefferson Counties), and in adjacent counties in Virginia and Maryland. We promote ways to make a living in our area without destroying our air, soil, water, wildlife and scenery. We support economic, agriculture and energy development that protects the environment and supports family and community cohesion. We support planning to discourage sprawl and uplift local business, local history and culture. In our newsletters and website we inform and alert citizens, and occasionally lead in organizing.
