This evening is the EVENT NOT TO MISS Art, Chocolate, and Stories to Benefit Freedom Life Client Care at Elegant Evening Event MARION, NC [May 19, 2025] – Mark your calendars for a special evening of art, delectable chocolate, and inspiring stories on Tuesday, May 20th, from 6:00 PM to approximately 7:30 PM at the historic Blanton House on Main Street in Marion, conveniently located next to the post office. "Art, Chocolate, and Stories" promises an elegant night out in support of Freedom Life Client Care, a local Christian reentry service. Guests will have the unique opportunity to bid on a curated collection of artwork inspired by the journeys of Freedom Life clients. The diverse collection features the talents of local advanced art students from McDowell High School, dedicated art teachers, accomplished local artists, and skilled potters and craftsman furniture makers. Bidding will begin at $100 per piece, with 50% of each sale directly benefiting the artist and the remaining 50% supporting the vital work of Freedom Life Client Care. Twelve pieces specifically inspired by a client's journey will be available, alongside several other generous art donations. A silent bid sheet will be available for each artwork at the bid table. Attendees are encouraged to revisit the table throughout the evening to monitor their bids and ensure they don't miss out on their desired pieces. Adding to the ambiance, a delightful string trio will perform in the Blanton House courtyard. Refreshments, including sparkling lemonade, ice water, and coffee provided by Ingenious Coffee Shop, will be served. Indulge your sweet tooth with a decadent array of chocolate desserts, including Dubai Chocolate Pistachios generously sponsored by Cross Memorial Church, chocolate chunk cookies from Marion's own Bake and Shake, Hawaiian cake, white chocolate raspberries, white and black mousse, Tiramisu from the Blanton House, chocolate macaroons from J Hartman's, and many more tempting treats. Tickets for this special event are $25 and can be purchased at the door. While supper will not be served at the Blanton House this evening, guests are welcome to enjoy their regular dining service during their weekend hours. Take this opportunity to tour the beautiful Blanton House, built by an assistant architect who collaborated on the iconic Biltmore House.
