Queen's Best Stumpy Dog Rescue
Queen's Best Stumpy Dog Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in California, United States. The organization is dedicated to rescuing corgis and corgi mixes from high-kill shelters in California, with a special focus on those with special needs.
Mission and Philosophy
The rescue emphasizes the rehabilitation of dogs, both medically and behaviorally, using relationship-based training. They aim to match these dogs with families whose lifestyles and needs align with those of the dogs. This approach is grounded in the belief that dogs are lifelong family members and deserve a "furever" home[3].
Activities and Services
QBSDR offers several community events, including pack hikes and training sessions. These activities help raise awareness about corgi rescue and provide opportunities for socialization and training[3]. They are also involved in larger events such as SoCal Corgi Beach Day and NorCal Corgi Con, serving as an official partnering rescue for these events[3].
In addition to adoption, QBSDR provides a sanctuary for dogs that are not suitable for adoption due to past behavioral issues. They also offer support and training for families dealing with behavioral challenges in their own pets, aiming to prevent pet abandonment[3].
Financial Overview
The organization derives its funding primarily from contributions, which account for nearly all of its revenue. As of recent years, QBSDR has reported total assets ranging from approximately $100,000 to over $130,000, with no reported liabilities. Key employees and officers, including the president and director of operations, receive no compensation[2].
Governance and Tax Status
QBSDR is registered under the Employer Identification Number (EIN) 47-1553809. Donations to the organization are tax-deductible[2]. The organization was granted tax-exempt status in March 2015[2].
Adoption Process
Prospective adopters must undergo an application process, which includes an interview, home check, and adoption contract. All dogs are thoroughly vetted by a veterinarian before being made available for adoption, ensuring they are up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered[1].

Rescued is definitely our favorite breed. 🐾 No matter what purebred dog you’re looking for - there’s a rescue out there, and a dog that needs you to open your heart and home to them. Social media makes it even easier to have access to dogs you otherwise wouldn’t know about. There are dogs being privately rehomed, given up at shelters, given up to rescue groups, dumped on the streets, EVERY SINGLE DAY. There are dogs that need YOU to give them a home so they’re not losing their lives in overcrowded shelters. That new puppy that was purchased yesterday will likely be in the shelter next year. That same dog will then need someone else to rescue them. That dog is sitting in a shelter, right now. It’s a vicious cycle that can only end with you. Through the choices you make. On this #NationalRescueDogDay, we can’t stress enough how incredible rescued dogs are. They deserve the world, and that world could be you. ♥️ #AdoptDontShop #FosteringSavesLives #Foster #Volunteer #RescuedCorgi #RescuedIsMyFavoriteBreed #CorgiRescue #CorgiRanch #CorgiSanctuary #QBSDRRanch #QBSDRSanctuary #QBSDR (fb)

Please officially welcome, Joey! He’s approximately 2-3yrs old and was rescued last week from the Long Beach shelter, where he was abandoned in a cardboard box in a severely neglected and emaciated state. He was flea infested, extremely anemic, had coccidia, and required a transfusion at the ER due to how anemic he was. His PCV (packed cell volume) was at 5%, when it should have been between 35-55%. How his little body held on is beyond us, but it goes to show just how strong of a spirit Joey has. After being sprung from the shelter, Joey spent the first few days healing with a temp foster, before coming to the ranch. Since arriving, he’s finished his meds, saw Dr. Stone, and had followup diagnostics done. We’re so happy to share that he’s now coccidia free, and has put on 3lbs! 🙌 His liver, kidney, and glucose levels are normal, he’s heartworm negative, has no tick-borne diseases, his spine and hips look good, and overall is doing really well. His energy level has gone up, and he’s showing a playful side, with a fondness for benebone chews. He still needs to be neutered and receive the rest of his vaccinations before he can be moved to a new home. The primary test that we’re still waiting on results for is the Von Willebrand test before we proceed with scheduling his neuter. His abandonment and condition when found is eerily similar to another corgi we took over care for, in March. In an effort to prevent unnecessary complications, we’re taking extra precautions, just in case they originated from the same place. There’s still so much to learn about Joey, but what can be said with certainty is he’s incredibly sweet, he’s safe, and on the mend. We’re so grateful for the collective efforts that ensured his safety. Thank you @lbanimalcare for all the care provided that quite literally saved his life, @baillessima for picking him up from the shelter and transporting him, Janette for temp fostering him, and this incredible corgi community for rallying together to network him. It takes a village and we’re glad he has the support of the best one we know. More updates on Joey to come. ♥️ (fb)
