Period poverty is a global health issue that adversely affects millions of girls and women around the world. It is the inability to afford and access menstrual products, sanitation and hygiene facilities and education and awareness to manage menstrual health. Period poverty negatively impacts girls’ and women’s lives and undermines their rights and freedoms. Within the framework of W4’s programs in sub-Saharan Africa, W4 is very proud to continue our partnership with Girls Excel in Cameroon to provide girls and women, particularly girls and women affected by the conflict in the south west and north-west regions of Cameroon, with access to menstrual and sexual and reproductive health education.
