The Yedidya Center for Jewish Spiritual Direction is dedicated to the introduction and development of the emerging practice of spiritual direction in the North American Jewish Community. Our work is a process of tikkun (repair, restoration) that brings Jews back to the spiritual dimensions of our tradition from which, for historical and cultural reasons, many Jews have been alienated. Spiritual direction supports the deepening of Jewish identity and adult learning through the spiritual lens – one that is deeply rooted in Judaism throughout the ages but not always as easily identified and accessed.Yedidya's mission focuses our work in the following three areas:1. The introduction of Jewish spiritual direction and and its potential benefits in adult Jewish identity and learning to the North American Jewish community.2. The creation of a distinctly Jewish form of training in spiritual direction.3. The deepening of our understanding of the theory and practice of Jewish spiritual direction.
