The Bates County Area Habitat for Humanity strives to eliminate substandard and poverty housing in Bates County, Missouri. We also tithe to the International organization to build homes in Mexico. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical, international Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people from all faiths and walks of life to work together in partnership, building houses with families in need. The board members receive no salary. Much of the materials and labor is donated for the homes that sell at a no interest loan to low income qualified applicants.
