SECOND HELPINGS
Second Helpings is a nonprofit food rescue & distribution network, striving to eliminate hunger in the SC Lowcountry. Each year, we collect and distribute some 3 million lbs of food. We are a funded UWLC (United Way of the Lowcountry) partner agency. We fight hunger and food insecurity in our community by collecting food that would otherwise go to waste and distribute it, free of charge, to local food pantries, soup kitchens, and family programs for people in need. We buy fresh, healthy produce and proteins to supplement our food rescue efforts.

Second Helpings - Second Helpings Hunger Nearly 30000 Lowcountry neighbors face hunger and food insecurity. One in eight neighbors in Beaufort Jasper and Hampton counties face hunger and food insecurity. They are children and their families senior citizens and workers whose paychecks dont stretch far enough to cover their expenses. Many of them work in the hospitality industry that sustains our thriving economy for residents and visitors alike.
