Liberty Disaster Relief
Liberty Disaster Relief is a community helps ministry in the Kansas City area that operates homeless shelters, transitional living programs, food pantries and farm to teach self-sufficiency and missional agriculture. All staff are volunteers - no employees, no salaries. Dollar for dollar we are super efficient. Typically we house 20-40 people per month and feed hundreds. Since 2005 we have given away over 6 million pounds of food and many truck loads of household goods, furniture and clothing. We case manage to help them get housing, jobs, social security/disability and other needs like getting IDs. We have volunteer mechanics that will repair donated vehicles so we can get them to people in need. There are all kinds of Liberty disasters that might not look big to you, until YOU are in it.
