NOBCChE
Official Twitter of NOBCChE - committed to the discovery, transmittal, and application of knowledge in the fields of science and engineering. NOBCChE seeks to build an eminent cadre of people of color in science and technology. The National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) is a non-profit dedicated to helping Black and minority students and professionals excel in chemistry, chemical engineering, and allied fields. In the 2022-2023 FY, NOBCChE celebrated its 50th anniversary in New Orleans, attracting a record-breaking 1,122 attendees. The event, funded by fees, donations, and grants, featured the Winifred-Burks Houck Luncheon honoring Dr. Tyrslai Menyaee' Williams-Carter and the Percy Julian Luncheon honoring Dr. Squire Booker. The conference included nearly 500 student poster presentations, 18 technical sessions, 4 ACS sessions, and professional development workshops. Highlights included a gala, vendor area, and a speech by Dr. Mae Jemison. NOBCChE also expanded its chapters to 70, hosted K-12 outreach programs, and promoted the NOBCChE Collaborative for diversity in STEM, with meetings at Carnegie Mellon University and Ohio State University.
