It was House of Heroes' honor to assist SP4 Daniel Sullivan and his family in Guilford on Saturday - our third project of the day - with vital home repairs including new windows, major exterior repairs and painting, and extensive yard clean-up and beautification. Dan is a decorated Vietnam Veteran who suffers from a severe neurological disorder tied to his exposure to Agent Orange while serving in 'Nam. The last decade has been very trying for the family and it was HOHCT's privilege to do its small part to ease some of the burden the family faces. We could not have done it without the yeoman assistance of Project Partners Pat Munger Construction Company, Inc. and Liberty Bank. More than 30 volunteers made the magic happen - thank you! Our second Memorial Day weekend project landed in Stamford! SP4 Frank Calzone, a Vietnam War infantry veteran who was wounded by gunfire during his service, needed some help at his home. At 80 years old and wheelchair-bound, access and upkeep had become real challenges. Thanks to the incredible volunteers from Greenwich Hospital and our dedicated partners at Carpenters Local 326, we were able to make a big difference. The team cleaned and beautified the entire yard, and the skilled carpenters rebuilt a ramp that was unsafe—ensuring Frank can now get in and out of his home safely and with ease. House of Heroes is deeply grateful to both organizations for giving their time and hearts to support a deserving veteran on such a meaningful weekend.
