Restoring Northeast Oregons Premiere Entertainment Venue Supporting the arts. The Liberty Theatre first opened its doors in 1910 as a venue for live performances. It later became a movie house and screened the classics of the day right up to its closure in 1959. It was a central icon in the landscape of downtown La Grande and served as a special entertainment space for many generations.
