The Beaches Community Fund, a collective giving initiative of The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, recently made $319,000 in grants to 19 nonprofits that address critical needs facing their Beaches-area neighbors. Our May Donors Forum focused on next generation philanthropy, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Weaver Philanthropic Initiative (WPI). Named in honor of the community leadership of J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver, WPI is an education and grantmaking program for emerging philanthropists. Since 2013, more than 100 next generation philanthropists have graduated from the program, seeding important philanthropic legacies throughout Northeast Florida.
