Youth Volume
Musical changemakers ages 3-18 playing violin/viola/cello in Detroit & Marquette, Michigan! Youth Volume is growing resilience, innovation, collaboration, and Higher Order Thinking Skills in musical changemakers ages 4-18. We use the classical Suzuki method, improvising, and social justice teaching practices during weekly private violin lessons and bi-monthly group classes. We engage with local artists who are using music to build community in, between, and beyond Detroit and Marquette, Michigan. Every Spring, we collaborate with our mentors as culture keepers and culture creators to produce new music. Our albums celebrate genres with historical significance to our city. This organization is queer-owned and operated.
