The purpose of this organization is to cultivate and support the practice of Buddhist Insight meditation sometimes also called mindfulness meditation or Vipassana practice in the Modesto California area. This type of meditation is based on the Theravada Buddhist traditions of the Ajahn Chah and Mahasi Sayadaw lineages in Asia and the Western Insight tradition as brought to the West by Joseph Goldstein Sharon Salzberg Jack Kornfield and teachers in that lineage.
