FCPF supports FCPA by raising private funds, obtaining grants, and creating partnerships to meet our community's need for park land, facilities & services. FCPF supports the Park Authority by raising private funds, obtaining grants and creating innovative partnerships that supplement tax dollars to meet our community's needs for park land, facilities and services. FCPA receives less than 6/10 of one percent of Fairfax County's General Fund budget. While fees from recreation centers, golf courses, and classes provide for nearly 60% of the Park Authority's operating expenses, some programs and park facilities can't be fee-based. These areas are where the Foundation specifically provides support. FCPF helps to support open space land; improve parks, trails and recreational facilities; restore and improve historic sites and nature centers; and provide healthy, recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities and low-income children.
