On Saturday, working Texans, immigrants, Workers Defense Action Fund, @texasaflcio, @grassroots_leadership, and @txcivilrights will join forces at the Texas Capitol to rally against SB8, a sweeping attack on our immigrant communities. If passed, SB8 would force certain counties to collaborate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by entering into 287(g) agreements, essentially making local police officers act as ICE agents. We will be in front of House Chambers demanding our elected officials vote 'no' on this bill to stop racial profiling and wasting of taxpayer money.
